Guard Jared Cunningham is working out for the Warriors on Tuesday

Marc J. Spears of ESPN reported on Monday night that guard Jared Cunningham will be working out with the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. No other information was provided by Spears other than the fact that Cunningham, a native of Oakland, will be in a group workout that includes “several free agent vets.”

Cunningham was picked 24th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers but was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks, where he played just eight games. He split the 2013-14 season between the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings, appearing in five and eight games, respectively.

In 2014-15, Cunningham averaged 1.8 points in 19 games. He last played in the NBA in 2015-16, a season he split with the Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks.

Cunningham’s career averages are 2.3 points in a total of 84 games. Barring remarkable feats in training or overseas play since falling out of the the league, it is hard to imagine Cunningham being valuable to the Warriors outside of practice play.

His career shooting averages are 34.7% from the field, 30.6% from 3-point range and 67.4% from the free-throw line.
