Geralt of Rivia is much too involved with Leshen spirits and beautiful women to concern himself with things like the GTA 6 delay. The Witcher series actor Doug Cockle, who's voiced the monster slayer Geralt for nearly 20 years, tells GamesRadar+ he could hardly care less about the fabled Rockstar game.
"Oh man," Cockle tells us during the Golden Joystick Awards 2025, when we ask for his thoughts on GTA 6 potentially outpacing The Witcher 3's history at the awards show – around 10 wins over four years. "This is a game I really don't care about," he laughs, all while the GTA 6 subreddit is in its usual state of panic level 80.
Everything is calm, according to Cockle. "I think Witcher 3 is a great game," he says. "GTA 6, when it comes out, will probably be a great game." I can hear the tortured cries of GTA fans now: you mean, if it comes out!
"So whatever it is, it is, you know?" Cockle continues, shrugging at the thought of GTA 6 surpassing The Witcher 3's awards. It could, but it doesn't matter. "Enjoy your games. Have fun with them."
Cockle has his own blockbuster game to worry about, anyway. The actor will again reprise his role as Geralt in CD Projekt's upcoming The Witcher 4 – though he's strategically quiet when we ask him about that game, too.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Cockle says when we press him on The Witcher secrets. Well played, Witcher.
