GTA 5 Online update fixes a million bugs, and now some players will no longer randomly spawn in the ocean: "I got to hand it to the devs"

Grand Theft Auto 5.

Rockstar probably knows you're crying over its several GTA 6 delays, but at least you can now more efficiently wipe your tears with stolen cash in your GTA 5 Online mansion. The developer has just released the chunky Update 1.72.

Patch notes on the Rockstar website describe a number of improvements to the Rockstar Mission Creator, GTA 5's new mansions, and some more general fixes. One highlight: players should no longer find themselves randomly marooned in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

"Fixed an issue that resulted in players spawning in the ocean while exiting El Rubio's compound during The Cayo Perico Heist," Rockstar explains in its general bug fixes. Plus, "Several changes and fixes have been made to Creator Content I-V missions addressing issues with objectives," and the developer has issued "general fixes for stability."

Within the Rockstar Mission Creator, players can expect a number of improvements now that Rockstar has "fixed an issue that resulted in cutscenes sometimes having graphical issues," "fixed an issue that resulted in inconsistent actor behavior while hacking," and – among other tweaks – "added new Wanted Level Options to the Mission Creator."

"I know that a lot of people are disappointed with the gta6 delay," says one fan on Twitter, "but I got to hand it to the devs for the updates to gta5."

But I'm disappointed to see, over in GTA 5's enormous mansions, that Rockstar has "fixed issues that could result in the pet dog floating and the prompt for petting to persist on screen." Does a dog that's unlocked the telekinetic ability to fly not deserve infinite pets?

Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser left the studio because of how long GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 took to make: "I don't know if I had another one of those games in me."
