'Grumpy' Piers Morgan demands Good Morning Britain boss 'shut up' live on air

Piers Morgan appeared to be grumpier than ever today as he demanded his Good Morning Britain boss "shut up" live on air.

This comes just a day after he was taken off air after hitting out at crew.

Today, as he went on another rant about 'Lion of London Bridge' who was denied compensation due to criminal record, he barked at the programme's editor.

Piers demanded: "People are talking to me while I'm on air, can you shut up?"

Shocked, Susanna exclaimed: "You're so rude! When you're saying people are talking in your ear you mean the editor of our programme is suggesting ways..."

"I'm actually discussing a really important issue," Piers continued. "I don't care! If he's the editor of our programme he should watch and see that I'm saying something important! "

"You are saying something important but I don't think you need to tell him to shut up," Susanna said.

Piers complained: "He's just barking in my ear saying 'Move on, move on'. No, I won't move on! I'll finish what I'm saying."

Later, he added: "My apology to any snowflakes who are offended by what I said."

Earlier, Piers slammed Susanna for "rudely" interrupting Charlotte Hawkins during her news bulletin.

While Charlotte was in the middle of presenting a segment on Facebook scams when she suddenly stopped and turned to Susanna and Piers.

Fuming, Piers demanded: "Can you turn your phone off?"

Clearly embarrassed, Susanna said: "So sorry."

"What are you doing?" Piers snapped.

Charlotte exclaimed: "She's playing music in the middle of my news bulletin!"

"Well we're about to discuss the Miley Cyrus [music] video, I'm so sorry, and i thought I'd better..." Susanna trailed off sheepishly.

"Charlotte, I can only apologise," Piers responded.

"It's entirely my fault, I'm so sorry," Susanna gushed. "And the whole point about this story is that it affects us as well!"

"With the scam ads on Facebook," Charlotte said.

Still unimpressed, Piers said: "Wow that was really awkward. Charlotte, back to the news."

Later, Susanna tried to explain again that they had been about to speak about the larger model in the Miley Cyrus video.

She said: "The reason I was playing that video, that Miley Cyrus video, in my defence, that some people said that the model in that video is glorifying obesity."

*Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
