Gruesome pies containing 'thumbs, eyes and bones' delivered to Bristol homes

Deliveroo will be serving limited edition pies adorned with thumbs, eyes and bones in Bristol over the Halloween weekend.

The spooky pies topped with human body parts are being launched to mark the 175 year anniversary since the infamous Sweeney Todd was first mentioned for his antics on London’s Fleet Street.

Bringing it to the modern day, Deliveroo is playing the role of Mrs Lovett as it dishes up pies containing edible thumbs, eyes and bones.

The pies are made by The Demonic Butchery and Pie Emporium in London but people in Bristol can order them via Editions on Deliveroo this weekend.

The spooky surprises poking out of the pies are made out of sweet and savoury fondant.

The deliciously devilish pies come in three fillings: beef, bone marrow and stout; chicken, smoked ham hock and leek, or vegan-friendly mushroom stroganoff with garlic, smoked paprika, oat milk crème fraîche.

Deliveroo customers in central London will also have the chance to get their hands on hundreds of free pies by turning up to the Demonic Butchery and Pie Emporium on Fleet Street. To secure a free pie, they’ll need to scream loud enough for the hatch to open.

The 'human pies' can be delivered to your home (Deliveroo)

A Deliveroo spokesperson said: “The scariest season of the year has arrived, and we’re thrilled to be pulling out all the stops to give customers a hearty, out-of-body, food experience they’ll never forget thanks to these delicious but devilish pies available in Manchester, Bristol, and London.”

The limited-edition pies will be on sale from 11am on October 29 until October 31. Pies will be £1.75 - to recognise 175 years since the dreaded demon barber was written about.

The pies can be ordered via Editions on Deliveroo in Bristol. Search ‘Demonic Butchery & Pie Emporium’ on the Deliveroo app or online to place an order, subject to geographical location.
