On December 15, 2025, a 31-year-old male Amazon driver allegedly attacked an employee at a dental office in Lakewood, Colorado, leaving staff and patients shaken and a receptionist seriously injured.
According to local news outlet KDVR, just after 3 p.m., Michael Dewey Coleman arrived at the dental office to deliver a package. According to the Lakewood Police Department, instead of completing the delivery and leaving, Coleman suddenly grabbed a 21-year-old receptionist’s head on both sides, pulled her head towards him, and tried to kiss her, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by local media.
As has been widely reported, the receptionist tried to defend herself, using her arms to block Coleman’s advances and striking him in the face in an effort to force him to get away. Coleman then allegedly responded by lifting the woman out of her chair by her clothing and exposing her, with witnesses telling police it appeared he was “trying to violate her” and attempting to rip off her clothes, according to Denver’s KMGH.
The receptionist managed to kick Coleman, who then allegedly punched her multiple times in the face, breaking her nose and causing bruising, according to an affidavit viewed by local news outlets. Police believe there is evidence she may have been strangled during the attack.

As the violent confrontation unfolded, reports say a patient waiting for treatment heard screams and rushed to help. According to police, the individual saw Coleman “pulling at the female employee’s dress” and attempted to intervene, only to be struck in the face by Coleman. A dental hygienist also joined the effort to stop Coleman. The two men tackled Coleman to the ground and held him there until police arrived.
When officers arrived at the scene around eight minutes later, Coleman was still being restrained by staff and patients. Police noted his behavior was unusual, stating in the affidavit that Coleman appeared “in an altered state of mind.” He was reportedly “growling, sweating,” and he thought he was in the state of Texas, while he said he could “not recall what had happened,” according to Law & Crime.
After initial confusion, police said Coleman became calmer and more coherent. He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to St. Anthony Hospital for evaluation before being booked.
Police arrested Coleman on multiple felony counts, including sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact, and related charges. As of this report, he remains in custody at the Jefferson County Jail on $50,000 bond. His next scheduled court date is December 22, 2025.
An Amazon spokesperson told local news that Coleman was working through a third-party delivery service and stated he is “no longer delivering packages to Amazon customers,” adding the company is “cooperating fully with law enforcement in their investigation.”
