Another worrying threat to press freedom in Venezuela. The governor of Bolivar state, Francisco Rangel Gomez says he is to propose that the state takes greater control of the country's newspapers and radio outlets. In calling for "a comprehensive revision of these media", he also endorsed the decision of the president, Hugo Chávez, not to renew the broadcasting licence of the Radio Caracas Televisión network.
