Growing sheet metal firm expands again with launch of new outdoor living division

A growing sheet metal manufacturer has expanded further with the launch of a new outdoor living business.

Stafford-based Alpha Manufacturing has launched a brand new outdoor storage and garden furniture division called HEX Living after spotting a gap in the market.

The company, which specialises in metal sheds and storage solutions, has already released its first two products – a large capacity shed and a smaller, vertical unit – which are readily available to buy online.

These will be followed by a further nine new products – including metal planters, deck boxes, horizontal storage units and four additional models of shed – which will be added to the range in the coming weeks.

Alpha Manufacturing managing director Paul Clews said: "During Brexit and the pandemic, we identified a gap in the market for British manufactured metal sheds and other outdoor living products.

"As supply issues and import problems hit the industry, we knew that there was a real opportunity to introduce a range of UK designed and manufactured products that would give buyers improved choice, higher quality, readier availability and ultimately an enhanced buying experience. I couldn't be more excited to see HEX Living launched."

As a subsidiary of Alpha Manufacturing, all HEX Living products will be designed and manufactured at the company’s 80,000 sqft headquarters in Hixon.

Paul said: "Aside from the design and high quality of our products, one of our real points of difference is that all of our products will be manufactured here in the UK.

"This gives us a real advantage over our competitors whose products are largely imported from abroad.

"Thanks to the size of our manufacturing plant, we have the capacity to manufacture and hold large volumes of stock here in Staffordshire. This means we can deliver our products to anywhere in the country in just five working days and without expensive delivery charges, providing an excellent purchasing experience for our customers."

HEX Living has successfully secured a major retail partner who will be supplying its first two products – called Weston and Hixon – online and through several of its stores in the near future.

The business will also be exhibiting at garden and outdoor living trade show Glee 2022 in June as well as summer outdoor exhibition SOLEX in July.

Paul added: "We are really excited about the launch of HEX Living and the possibilities that lie ahead. We've invested significantly in research, design, production and marketing to get the product here today and cannot wait to showcase it to potential stockists at the events.

"We have also created our very own mobile showroom, converting an articulated trailer into a moving space that we can use to visit customers with our products up and down the country."

The launch of HEX Living comes after a busy 12 months for Alpha Manufacturing, which recently took ownership of a new 35,000 sq ft factory at Beacon Park in Stafford.

The purpose-built facility has been constructed on the back of the company's new partnership with global chemical company INEOS Electrochemical Solutions. It will be home to the Alpha Manufacturing Chemical Technologies business.

Alpha – which is part of the Bri-Stor Group – also launched a recruitment drive to fill dozens of roles at the business including welders, production team leaders and machine operatives.
