Growing concern for missing woman Elaine McAlonan last seen on Wednesday

An appeal has been launched to find a 42-year-old woman reported missing from her home.

Elaine McAlonan was last seen on Maryhill Road close to its junction with Kelvindale Road at around 11am on Wednesday (October 27).

Police Scotland has said there is growing concern for her welfare as she has never gone missing before and she has not been seen or heard of since.

Elaine is described as being 5ft 6in tall and of slim build. She has brown hair with blonde highlights tied back in a ponytail and speaks with a Glasgow accent.

When last seen she was wearing a blue hoodie under a light coloured jacket, light blue jeans and dark "Ugg" style boots.

Chief Inspector Martin Gallagher said: "We are growing increasingly concerned for Elaine's welfare as it is out of character for her to be out of contact with her family for this length of time.

"Anyone who has information about her whereabouts is urged to call 101 as soon as possible, quoting incident 2539 of 30 October."

Update:  Police have confirmed that Elaine has now been traced safe and well.
