During the second world war, hundreds of thousands of African men joined the British army.

Many endured prejudice during the war and neglect afterwards, as they received smaller salaries and pensions than British soldiers.

As the number of African veterans that are still alive dwindles, there are growing calls to acknowledge the sacrifice made the African troops.
