The pets have wholly changed the way players farm money in Grow A Garden, and as a result, it is vital to pick the right pets for the right kind of field. While certain pets, such as cows or pigs, can be beneficial for all gardens, it is necessary to switch to more suitable pets as you plant more exotic and unusual crops. Check out our Grow A Garden Pets tier list for the overall best animals you should get.

+ Provides you with a mutation chance every 80 seconds within a certain perimeter. + This is fantastic for farming money as you get an increase in crop price for free, nearly every minute. |
Chicken Zombie |
+ Provides the unique Zombified Mutation that increases the price of crop by x25 times + An Easy way to get a mutation for your fruit and farm a lot of money |
S- Tier
Another selection of pets that you should get as soon as possible to increase your production and money-earning.
Pet | Description |
---|---|
Polar Bear |
+ 10% chance every 90 seconds to make any nearby fruit gain the chilled or frozen mutation + The price increase and the buff applied every 1.5 minutes make it highly effective in earning money over time |
Caterpillar |
+ Enables all of your nearby leafy plants to grow x1.5 times faster. + Since most of your crops are leafy plants, it will be effective for the entire farm, increasing your production time and money-making capacity. |
Giant Ant |
+ Has a 10% chance of duplicating Harvested Fruit. + Though the number may sound pretty low, it can rake in a huge profit if you are able to copy any golden or frozen mutation crop. |
Raccoon |
+Provides a random valuable duplicate fruit from your neighbour's farm every 15 minutes. +Since the fruit is a duplicate, it will not affect the owner's farm and will provide you with free, valuable fruit. |
Moon Cat |
+ Every Minute, the cat will nap near a random plant, increasing the fruit size by x1.5 + Provides the Moon Harvest Buff that has a 6% chance for all Moon/Night Plants to replant themselves during Harvest |

A- Tier
These Pets are great to have, especially earlier in the game when they can help you increase the size of your crops as well as your yield.
Pet | Description |
---|---|
Sea Otter |
+ They will randomly water on any nearby plants, perfect for slow-growing exotic/mythical plants + If you have just planted your cactus or coconut and are waiting for it to grow quickly, make sure to use the Sea Otter. |
Snail |
+ Has a 5% chance of dropping seeds from any harvested plant. + It is excellent for gardens with high-value single-time crops. |
Cow |
+ Increase the size of your crop, in turn bringing in money. + You can use Cows for high-value exotic plants like the Venus Fly Trap. |
Orange Tabby | + Helps increase the weight of the yields, producing a lot of money during the initial stages |
Silver Monkey |
+ Has a 7.5% chance of providing a refund of fruit back to your inventory. - Since the probability is low, it is always a hit or miss, making the pet unreliable. |
Mole |
+ Every 90 seconds, the Mole will dig the ground and get you a random reward like gears or even sheckles. + The digging rate is pretty high, and the gifts are beneficial for growing crops quickly. |
Red Fox |
+ Every 10 minutes, the pet will steal a valuable pet from the neighbour's plot. + The stealing frequency is pretty high, and you can quickly get a valuable mutated crop for free. |
Petal Bee |
+ It applies the Pollinated Mutation to all the crops/fruits. + You have a 1.29% chance that a flower-type plant stays after harvest - Nothing unique or powerful for a legendary type of pet |
B- Tier
B Tier pets in Grow a Garden can be useful in some situations, especially for beginners, but fall off later due to better ones like in the tiers above.

Panda |
+ Perfect pet for Bamboo farmers as it randomly eats bamboo every 2.5 minutes, increasing its value by 1.5. - The buff does not translate to other crops |
Spotted Deer | + The berry you pick may remain after plucking. - The chance is very low, and will only be really useful if you fill the majority of your gardens with berries |
Pigs |
+ Best pets for players who are just beginning their journey in Grow a Garden. + provides a new fruit to grow, as well as provides variations/mutations to it. - Great for farming in the early game only; there are better pets for later on. |
Golden Lab |
+ Decent pet for beginners, as it can randomly dig a seed for you every minute. - Extremely useful for newbies, but not so much later on. |
Cat | + Cats are best for newbies as they are much easier to get compared to the Orange Tabbies, and provide nearly the same buffs as them |
Monkey |
+ May be useful for beginner to mid players - A downgraded version of Silver Monkey that |
Owl |
+All of your active pets will get an additional 0.22 to 0.25 XP to grow faster. +It helps young, valuable pets like Dragonfly or Praying Mantis grow much quicker. - It does not provide any value or mutation in addition to fruits. |

+It provides a size bonus of x1.5 for prickly fruits like cactus or blueberry. -Only valid for farms with a lot of berries, and is not adequate to use with slow-growing crops. |
Blood Hedgehog |
+ A better version of the default Hedgehog, which increases the size of Prickly Fruit. -Only applicable for berry farmers. |

C-Tier
These Pets can be useful if you don't have anything better, but I suggest pulling for some of the Animals in the tiers above.
Pet | Description |
---|---|
Frog |
+ A slightly downgraded version of the Echo Frog, where the pet will croak towards a random crop every 20 minutes to stimulate its growth. - The crop it will croak is random and not helpful when you have fast-growing crops. |

+ Beneficial for beginners as they get a free seed to save money. - Slightly downgraded version of the Golden Lab |
Deer |
+ May be useful for Berry Farmers - A scaled-down version of the Spotted Deer |

+ Increases your hatching speed by a certain margin. This is useful when you are opening a mythical or divine type of egg. - For farming money, it is very useless. |
Kiwi |
+ Decreases the hatch time of the egg with the highest hatch time - Does not provide any mutation or buffs to the plant |
Blood Kiwi |
+ A better version of the default Kiwi in terms of stats. - Does not provide any mutation or buffs to the plant |
Bee |
+It applies the Pollinated Mutation to Plants every 25 Minutes. - The Pollinated Mutation is one of the Weakest mutations, providing only a x3 multiplier. |
D- Tier
You might want to use these pets very early on if you don't have anything else, but I suggest swapping them out as soon as possible, as they are useless compared to the rest.
Pet | Description |
---|---|
Chicken |
+ You can use it while hatching any rare eggs and then swap it with much better ones from the top part of the tier list - Similar to the rooster, except that it is a bit worse |
Bunny | - One of the weakest pets in Grow a Garden, as it only increases the value of a Carrot by a small amount and does nothing else. |
Black Bunny | - Similar to the Bunny, also increases the value of the Carrot by a small margin and does not provide any other perk, making it highly useless |
