General group training sessions for people who will serve as volunteers at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics began in Tokyo on Friday. More than 110,000 people are expected to volunteer for the Games.
Those who wish to serve as volunteers are to take part in the training sessions, which are being held across the nation through February.
About 550 Games volunteers who will be involved in assisting operations at competition venues and about 200 City volunteers who will provide tourist information and other such services learned about the basic information and history of the Games during the training session held at the National Olympics Memorial Youth Center in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, on Friday.
