Group throw wild birthday party in Edinburgh woods, trashing area used by a nursery

A group of thoughtless party goers trashed an Edinburgh beauty spot after throwing a wild 21st birthday celebration.

The woodland area at Cammo, to the north-west of the city, was left covered in empty glass bottles, tents, folding chairs and disposable barbecues after the group abandoned the remains of the party.

The area is used as a Forest Kindergarten by young children.

On social media, locals complained: "Judging by the banner and balloons, there appears to have been a 21st birthday celebration in Cammo on Friday in the evening, because the next day park users were appalled to find the remains of the party spread all over the woodland area used by the Forest Kindergarten.

"Apart from empty glass bottles, tents, folding chairs and disposable barbecues had been abandoned along with large quantities of plastic packaging, cups and other more unsavoury rubbish.

"If you know of someone who might be thinking of partying in Cammo, please make them aware of the distress caused by leaving a mess like this."

It's not the first incident of its kind during lockdown, last month buckfast-fuelled party goers from Edinburgh left a local beauty spot strewn with rubbish and a burnt out gazebo were pictured partying at the site hours before.

In May, a woodland 'rave' left scorched trees, piles of garbage and furious locals in a beauty spot just outside Edinburgh.
