The Winter Wolf by Holly Webb

Winter Wolf Holly Webb

Review by Lily, 10

This book was amazing. It was about a girl called Amelia who was scared of dogs. She found an old diary and it sent her into the life of a boy from long ago. The diary was about a lost wolf pup who had been orphaned and needed help. I would recommend it to anyone who is aged six and up. It was amazing. It was a brilliant idea and brilliantly written. It was different from usual books. I give it 5 stars out of 5.

It was quite adventurous and I really liked it and enjoyed it. I want to read other ones in this series. I would definitely recommend it to people who like books about gangs, this book was very gang-y. I give it five out of five.

The Phoenix Code by Helen Moss

Helen Moss, Secrets of the Tombs 1: The Phoenix Code

Review by Lewis, 10

This was set in Egypt and in a pyramid. I gave up near the end of the book. It was not the best book ever and not the kind of book I like to read. There was lots of action but it ran out of steam at the end. I gave it 3/5.

Spooks: I am Grimalkin by Joseph Delaney

Joseph Delaney, Spook

Review by Lily, 10

Grimalkin is a witch assassin and she is a goodie. She is trying to destroy The Fiend. It is very exciting though more boys might like it than girls, or girls who like detail and gory bits. I don't like the gruesome bits. I give it 4/5.

Foxy Tales by Lydia Monks and Alex T Smith

Review by Bella, 10

I really enjoyed this book. It is about someone who wants to be rich and famous and faked liking someone. It was funny and interesting. I liked the illustrations especially the fat crocodile. It was very clever. I think anyone between 5 to 10 would like this book. I recommend it to young kids. I give it 4 stars out of 5.

Review by Ellie, 10

I thought Foxy Tales was very interesting but it was hard to understand what was happening. I liked the rhyming poem, that was very clever. I liked the illustrations. Kids who are seven years old and up would like it. I really recommend it as it was really fun and interesting to read. I give it 4 stars out of 5.
