Group of youths throw drinks and 'trash' Edinburgh McDonald's during disturbance

A group of teenagers caused chaos at a McDonald's in Edinburgh on Tuesday evening, leading to police being called out.

Boys aged between 12 and 14 threw drinks around in an incident at the Telford Road branch of the fast food restaurant around 8pm.

Reports on Facebook said the restaurant had been "trashed" and a member of staff had received homophobic abuse.

However police said they had no information on a hate crime being reported.  The boys had left by the time officers arrived.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said officers attended after a report of "young males causing a disturbance" within the restaurant.

No further police action was taken at the time.
