Group flouting coronavirus lockdown to visit friends in Glasgow caught by Manchester police

A group flouting the coronavirus lockdown rules to visit friends in Glasgow have been caught by police.

Greater Manchester city centre police this evening posted a comment on their Facebook page concerning seven people in two vehicles, from London, who were travelling back to the capital from Glasgow in the early hours of the morning.

Officers were alerted to them after the convoy took a detour through Manchester to stop off 'for a drink' and police say four of the seven have been slapped with £60 fines.

The Facebook comment, credited to Inspector Shivlock, reads: "Two vehicles (seven people) from London travelling back from Glasgow in the early hours after visiting friends!

"They took a detour through Manchester 'for a drink'

"Four of the seven are now £60 worse off!

"When will people learn? Utter imbeciles."
