NEW DELHI: A ground staffer at Kolkata airport lost his life in a tragic accident on Friday.
An employee of ground handling agency AIASL, Sanjit Roy, was operating his tractor near Coast Guard hangar.
“After seeing an aircraft of Coast Guard coming towards him, he turned the tractor sharply towards the left. Unfortunately, the tractor toppled and Roy’s head got crushed under its tractor canopy. He was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead,” said a senior official.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered a thorough probe into this and fix responsibility for the accident.
