'Ground-breaking' independent college MD Creatives set to open in town centre location by Britain's Got Talent star

A new independent creative and performing arts college is set to open in a Merseyside town centre next month, with enrolments having already begun.

MD Creatives will offer accredited, creative programmes and courses including performing arts, hairdressing, make-up and photography, and has been launched by Miguel Doforo, rebranded from its previous MD Productions identity.

The group's accolades include being three-time Britain's Got Talent semi-finalists, as well as performing for the Royal Family, Michael Jackson, and at the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2016.

MD Creatives' ambition is to provide an alternative method of learning to youngsters from across the Liverpool City Region, with a fresh cohort set to be welcomed this autumn to the "ground-breaking" Barrow Street site.

Mr Doforo said: “MD Creatives is very much a vehicle for kids who are seeking an alternative or additional pathway to traditional education, and to learn and pursue their professional and personal dreams in a different way.

“While we offer accredited vocational training, we are so much more than just singing and dancing. Performing arts is not just about the stage, it’s recognising every part of the creative journey as an enhancement to life skills.

"Here at MD Creatives we are an inclusive family, supporting each other to succeed and be the individuals we want to be - think of us as St Helens answer to the X-Mansion from X-Men!"

Located in the town centre, qualifications on offer will include BTEC, HND and HNC in Performing Arts.

Mr Doforo added: “We want to nurture and showcase the wealth of young talent here in the St Helens community and the wider city region.

The new academy features a recording studio, salon, performance area and hot desk space, and includes the ‘I Care’ zone - a safe space for youngsters in need, with a therapist and pastoral support.
