‘Grotesque Exploitation’: Donald Trump’s niece just revealed what he really worships — and surprise, it’s not God

Mary Trump has once again spoken out against her uncle, President Donald Trump. This time, she is calling out his use of religious language in recent public statements. The psychologist and long-time critic shared her thoughts in her newsletter after Trump’s address following U.S. attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

According to Huffington Post, in her Substack newsletter called “The Good In Us,” Mary Trump accused the president of being fake about his faith. She said Trump was invoking ‘a God he does not believe in’ during his recent speech, raising questions about Trump’s ability to communicate authentically. She called this nothing more than a political trick to win support from voters.

Mary Trump described her uncle’s use of religion as “grotesque exploitation” of the real faith that millions of Americans hold. She said Trump and his allies “use religion to justify everything they do, no matter how diabolical.” She called this approach both “cynical” and “hypocritical.”

Trump family never showed real faith, niece claims

Mary Trump gave details about how her family really felt about religion when she was growing up. She said that starting with her grandfather, money was the only thing that mattered to the Trump family. She wrote that “God did not enter into the equation and never once did I see any sincere professions of faith in God.”

The president’s niece explained what she sees as the real problem with Trump’s religious claims. She said the issue is not that Donald Trump does not believe in God. Instead, she said the problem is “that he’s a hypocrite and he is a user.” She added that Trump “believes in one higher power only and, in his head, that’s him.”

Mary Trump said she has a “huge problem” when “somebody as godless as Donald Trump pretends to believe what his followers want him to believe for reasons of political expedience.” She argued that Trump only uses religious language when it helps him politically, part of what critics see as his broader struggles with authentic communication. She said this hurts the real faith of millions of Americans who truly believe in God.

The criticism comes as Trump continues to appeal to religious voters across the country. Many evangelical Christians and other faith groups have supported Trump in past elections. Mary Trump’s comments suggest she believes her uncle is taking advantage of these voters’ sincere beliefs for his own political gain.
