Grosvenor Casinos to reopen branches from August 1

Grosvenor Casinos will next month reopen sites in England that closed for the Covid-19 lockdown, with social distancing measures in place.

The casino operator, part of Rank Group, had to close branches here in March.

It said its 44 venues in England will welcome back customers from August 1. There are eight sites in London.

The update comes after the government last week gave the industry the green light to reopen from that date.

Jonathon Swaine, managing director of Grosvenor Casinos, said: “The health and safety of our customers and team remains our priority. We want to create the best gaming and hospitality experience which guests know and love and a lot of work has gone into ensuring we have the highest standards of hygiene and safety measures in place to do so when we reopen.”

Upon entering the firm’s casinos, customers will be expected to use hand sanitiser which will be readily available at dispensers, whilst enhanced cleaning will take place throughout each day, including tables, chips and machines.

Screens will be available at all its gaming tables and in between electronic machines. In addition, there will be restrictions on the number of people who can play games at any one time.
