POLICE have charged a Central Coast man after he allegedly attempted to groom a 13-year-old boy online.
Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad's Child Exploitation Internet Unit began engaging with the man last month.
"Police will allege in court that the man believed he was speaking with a 13-year-old boy and engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the boy," police said in a statement.
"It will be further alleged he made arrangements to meet with him."
Strike Force Trawler detectives arrested the 62-year-old at a home about 10am on Saturday.
He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with use carriage service to groom under 16 years for sex.
The man was refused bail to face court on Sunday.
