Groom's 'aggressive' wedding day prank sparks outrage as wife told to 'divorce him'

Smashing cake into your beloved's face is a classic wedding tradition.

But one groom has been slammed by people online after he took the ritual a step too far.

In a clip that has been viewed more than 2.8 million times on TikTok, on the account @Kelsboyd3, a bride can be seen playfully wiping cake on her husband's face.

But it's the groom's reaction - that many have labelled as "aggressive" - that has people concerned.

As the bride takes a step back from him, he grabs the entire three-tier cake and smashes it into the side of her face, with the impact causing her to stumble a few steps into a nearby chair.

Since being posted, the video has received more than 92,000 likes and almost 9,000 comments from unimpressed viewers who said his actions were a "red flag".

One said: "DIVORCE ON THE NEXT LEVEL."

"That's not just aggressive but so embarrassing??? If he's comfortable doing that in front of all her friends and fam... scary," wrote another.

A third exclaimed: "Ohhhhh HELLLL NO!!!! Major RED FLAG."

While someone else replied: "You can literally see his mood change to anger and he THREW that cake, leave him sis he's abusive," added a fourth.

But the bride claims to have found it funny.

"This is us and it was funny to everyone"

"I’m sorry that you have a different sense of humour," she said.

To ease the backlash, the bride later uploaded another video showing the pair loved up, but people were still concerned.

"As long as you’re happy, that’s what matters," commented one person.

While another added: "Girl we believe you love him. It’s the other way around for us. This is scary because that’s not love. No matter how many ‘couple photos’ you post."
