An unfortunate best man's choice of words at his friend’s wedding may have called time on their relationship, according to his post on social media.
The anonymous man explained that his friend was getting married for the second time, and he was once again asked to be his best man on the big day.
After seeing a joke online, he decided to implement it into his own speech, and although the room was amused by it, apparently the groom was horrified.
The 34-year-old explained: “I was recently the best man at my friend's second wedding, I was also the best man at his first.
“I saw this joke online and it made me laugh so I stole it and for my opening speech I said "right well....welcome back everyone," which got more than a few laughs, especially from the bride who seemed to find it hilarious.”
He went on to say that: “Everything went well, speech over and done with, though later on after a few drinks my friend began to rip me a new asshole telling me I was out of line with that kinda joke and how I'd embarrassed him and it wasn't funny and that I shouldn't have brought his last marriage into this.”
Taking to a popular Reddit forum, he asked the public, “was I really that out of line?”
He wrote: “I mean a best man's speech will always be more jokey than anything and beyond that it was fairly tame and that was the only reference to his last marriage...was I really that out of line?”
Responses seem to be siding with the best man, with many finding his comments hilarious.
One person wrote: “I laughed so hard I woke up my wife.”
A second said: “I spit out my drink laughing at this lol.”
Among the hundreds of comments, a third wrote: “I laughed way too hard at this!!!”
