GHAZIABAD: Days after a video clip of a couple firing in the air to celebrate their wedding was widely shared on social media platforms, the groom has been booked, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Kotwali area.
In the video, the groom can be seen holding a pistol given to him by a guest. The newly-wed couple can then be seen holding hands and firing four shots.
“It was found that the video was from a wedding ceremony that took place at Surya farm house in Kotwali on December 9. No one was injured,” Swatantra Kumar Singh, circle officer 1, said.
He added that the groom has been identified as Prince Kumar, a resident of Vijayanagar.
“A notice has been issued to the operator of Surya farm house by Ghaziabad Police. A case has been registered against Prince and a search is on to trace him,” Singh said.
Operators of the farm house could not be contacted.
Meanwhile, another video in which three people can be seen firing in the air during a wedding ceremony has been shared widely on social media platforms. The three men are seen taking turns and firing shots using different guns. Several rounds were fired. The police said they are looking into the incident.
