Grizzly discovery in south London park sparks Met police investigation

Unspecified organs have been found inside a container in a south London park.

Police were called at around 4.30pm on Wednesday by a passerby who reported finding the grizzly item in Rosehill Park in Sutton.

Officers described finding “human or animal organs inside”.

The container has been secured by the Metropolitan Police and its contents will be forensically examined.

The force said a scene remains in place at the location on Thursday morning and enquiries into the circumstances continue.

A spokesperson said: “Police were called at approximately 16:30hrs on Wednesday, 24 July by a member of the public who reported finding a container in Rosehill Park, Sutton containing what was described as human or animal organs inside.

“The container has been secured by police and the contents will be forensically examined.”
