With eight double-digit seeds making it out of the first round, there’s a decent chance your bracket may be busted before the opening weekend of the NCAA tournament is over. If it’s any consolation, you’ll at least outscore Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty, who submitted one of the boldest brackets you’ll ever see.
Give Gritty credit, at least, for believing in some monumental upsets. Here are just a few of Gritty’s predictions:
- Gardner-Webb takes out Virginia and advanced to the national championship game, only to lose to “love.” (And Duke.)
- Montana beats Michigan but doesn’t have an opponent in the second round, and is eventually replaced by Drexel in the Sweet 16
- Drexel loses to the University of Phoenix, which makes a surprise run to the Final Four
- Bradley Cooper falls to the Maryland turtles in the Sweet 16
- Tennessee-Colgate ends with Crest advancing to the second round
