Person injured after gritter overturns as cops forced to close Fife road amid cold conditions

Police have closed a Fife road after a gritter overturned leaving one person injured.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on the A916 in Cupar on Sunday morning after reports of the crash at around 6am.

Police Scotland confirmed the road closure between the junction for the A914 and the Scots Tarvit road at around 9.30am on Sunday.

Drivers have been urged to avoid the area while officers remain at the scene.

One person suffered injuries in the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "The road is currently closed for recovery, between the junction for the A914 and Scots Tarvit Road."
