GRINSPOON frontman Phil Jamieson and Sydney indie band Lime Cordiale will be the main course in the Cambridge Hotel's relaunch following its closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jamieson will perform a seated show in the main room on Saturday, July 18, followed by Lime Cordiale's gig on Wednesday, July 22. Both shows will be capped at 100 tickets.

Lime Cordiale released their new album 14 Steps To A Better You on Friday.

The iconic Newcastle West music venue shut in March, but will reopen on Tuesday five days a week, offering dining from Los Boys Kebabs and all-day drinks service from 11am to late.

Live music will remain central to the business. Local musicians will perform free acoustic sets Wednesday through to Saturday. The acts booked in the opening week include Molly Millington, Skyepaint, Campbell Ross of Cooks & Bakers and Elijah Cairns from Loons.

While social distancing measures prevent the Cambridge from operating at capacity, they plan to push ahead with seated shows until restrictions ease further.

TICKETED GUZZLED DOWN

Adopted Newcastle country-rocker Brad Cox has added a second Small Ballroom show to his Drinking Season Tour after the first sold out in days. Cox will perform two unplugged shows at the 48 Watt Street venue on August 21, with support from his girlfriend and reigning Tamworth Country Music Festival Starmaker, Sammy White.

Cox has also added a second Canberra show on August 14 after selling at The Basement. Due to social distancing measures all tickets are seated.
