Grimes shares sweet video of Elon Musk cuddling tiny newborn son X Æ A-12

Grimes has shared a tender moment of daddy bonding after posting a video of boyfriend Elon Musk cuddling their newborn son, X Æ A-12.

The 32-year-old singer enjoyed her first Mother's Day, just a week after becoming a mum but it was her video of Elon with their baby that captured hearts.

She posted the video to her Instagram Stories showing the 48-year-old billionaire tech entrepreneur appearing to burp his baby son against his chest.

Grimes, whose birth name is Claire Boucher, added two pin two pink heart emojis to caption the video after she welcomed X Æ A-12 on May 4.

While the name has caused some controversy for not being as conventional as a typical name, Grimes has explained on Twitter what each component of the name means.

She wrote that X represents “the unknown variable” and "Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence).”

The A-12 part is a tribute to the CIA's Lockheed A-12 reconnaissance plane. The reason behind this is that it has "no weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent.”

The "A" is also a representation of "Archangel", which Grimes says is her "favourite song".

The number "12" is also the Chinese zodiac sign of the rat.

Elon admitted in a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast that Grimes "mostly came up with the name."

The Tesla CEO admitted: "Yeah, she's great at names."

Talking about how the name is pronounced, Elon said that the X is spoken "like the letter" while "the 'Æ' is pronounced like 'ash.' "

While this is the first child as a couple for Musk and Grimes, 32, Elon opened up about becoming a father again after having five sons in his previous marriage.

He said: "Actually, I think it's better being older and having a kid.

"I appreciate it more. Babies are awesome. They're awesome."

Elon added: "They're little lovebugs. It's wonderful. It's great."
