Grimes has called out her boyfriend Elon Musk after he tweeted that "pronouns suck", saying: "I can't support this hate."
The Tesla founder stirred up controversy on Twitter overnight by sending out a tweet which said that "pronouns suck".
Thousands responded to his post, including YouTuber CrankGameplays who said: "So is not respecting someone's pronouns and the way they identify."
Others called his comments "disgusting", while journalist Molly Lamber wrote: "You/you are so stupid."
Grimes, who shares a son with Musk, was among those to respond to his tweet, condemning his message in a post which was deleted shortly afterwards.
The 32-year-old Oblivion singer, whose real name is Claire Boucher, wrote: "I love you but please turn off ur phone or give me a dall [sic].
"I cannot support this hate. Please stop this. I know this is not your heart."
The couple have been dating for more than two years and in May welcome their first child, named X Æ A-12.
