Grillitsch double helps Hoffenheim snap seven-game winless run

Florian Grillitsch scored twice as Hoffenheim beat visiting Augsburg 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Monday to earn their first league win since September.

The Austria international put the hosts in front in the 17th minute when he was left unmarked at the far post to head in a Christoph Baumgartner short cross.

The visitors also scored with a header with Daniel Caligiuri timing his run perfectly to power in a cross from the left in the 31st.

Hoffenheim, however, had a perfect start to the second half, scoring twice in four minutes to kill off the game.

Grillitsch grabbed his second a minute after the restart and then Ihlas Bebou fired in a low shot in the 50th to earn their first league win since September and climb into 10th place, ahead of Augsburg on goal difference.

Champions Bayern Munich are top on 23 after drawing 3-3 against RB Leipzig.
