UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths is scheduled to visit Sanaa on Monday in a new attempt to save the stalled Stockholm Agreement, United Nations sources told Asharq Al-Awsat.

They said his flight, which was due to leave Amman on Saturday, was delayed.

Their remarks came after a source at Sanaa airport told the German News Agency (dpa), on condition of anonymity, that Griffiths and his accompanying delegation arrived in Yemen on Sunday and were received by Houthi officials.

Griffiths is set to meet with Houthi leaders and offer a new plan for implementing the first phase of the UN-brokered agreement in the key port city of Hodeidah.

Major General Michael Lollesgaard, the head of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) in Hodeidah, will accompany Griffiths in the expected meetings.
