DETROIT _ Unreal performances from Blake Griffin carried the Pistons to a 4-0 start entering Saturday.
When Griffin crashed, so did the Pistons.
The Celtics rolled into Little Caesars Arena on Saturday and put a 109-89 hurting on the Pistons.
The Celtics, one of the top teams in the league, led by as much as 29 points.
Griffin struggled through a nightmarish 2-for-13 shooting performance in scoring just seven points in 30 minutes.
Celtics standouts Kyrie Irving, Al Horford and Jayson Tatum struggled, too, though, combining for only 13 points.
But they weren't needed as the Pistons fell off the tightrope due to poor 3-point shooting.
The Pistons were terrible from 3-point range, going 6-for-35.
Reggie Jackson was 1-for-6.
Reggie Bullock was 1-for-5.
Langston Galloway was 0-for-5
Griffin was 0-for-4.
The Celtics were effective in keeping Griffin away from the rim for easy baskets.
Andre Drummond led the Pistons with 18 points and six rebounds.
Stanley Johnson had his best offensive game of the season, scoring 16 points. He was 3-for-8 from 3-point range.
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics (4-2) with 19 points and ex-Piston Marcus Morris added 18.
Daniel Theis scored 17 points as the Celtics bench dominated the Pistons.
The rematch is Tuesday night at TD Garden in Boston.
