Grievous bodily harm charged over alleged stabbing

A MAN has been refused bail after police charged him in relation to an alleged stabbing on the Central Coast.

Police allege a 38-year-old man driving a silver Holden pulled up beside a 43-year-old man in another vehicle on McMasters Road at Blackwall about 8.30am on Tuesday.

"Police will allege a 38-year-old man got out of the Holden and approached the older man and engaged in an altercation before the older man was stabbed to the abdomen," NSW Police said in a statement.

"The younger man fled the scene in the Holden."

The older man was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital.

He remains under police guard in a serious but stable condition.

Brisbane Water police made four arrests a short time later; a 38-year-old man and three women aged 26, 36 and 42.

The women were released pending further inquiries.

The man was charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

He was refused bail to appear on Wednesday.

Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing and anyone with information should come forward.
