Grieving parents of stillborn daughter are reminded of pain as vile troll mocks loss

Inverse to the sheer joy of welcoming a healthy child into the world is the loss of a baby .

Few situations in life are as painful as this.

Which makes mocking this loss all the more disgusting. Yet as unbelievable as it seems that someone would do this, this what parents Royce and Keri Young recently had to deal with.

In 2017 Royce, an ESPN reporter, and his wife made the brave decision to continue their pregnancy to term, knowing that their little girl, Eva, was dying.

Their motivation was the hope that they could donate her organs , Kidspot reports.

The two year anniversary of their loss fell earlier this week, which makes the timing of one troll's comments all the more cruel.

In response to Royce's coverage of a basketball player's performance, the troll decided to make fun of Eva's death.

Royce's reply was heartbreaking.

"I know you’re just some anonymous moron on Twitter but I’d like you to know that this hurt my feelings. I know that’s what you were going for and congrats, you succeeded," he wrote.

The tweet was picked up on, and even Keri responded to the troll, although she used the focus to highlight the importance of organ donation.

She wrote: "In the last 2 years neonatal organ donation has gone up 300% because of our daughter's legacy.

"If you're mad at someone for being rude to Royce on Twitter, and feel like you want to do something about it, be a pal and sign up here to be an organ donor."

Eva was the Royce's second child and they were told during pregnancy that she would not survive long after birth, owing to a rare birth defect called anencephaly.

Despite the agony this news brought, the couple continued with the pregnancy so they could donate her organs.

Sadly Eva died before they could meet her, however briefly and she was unexpectedly stillborn on April 17.

Royce and Keri have since welcomed a brother to their little boy into the world.
