Grieving mum has ring containing baby's ashes stolen in terrifying knifepoint robbery

A ring containing the ashes of a baby has been stolen from a woman in Salford.

The victim was mugged at knifepoint at around 4.45pm on Friday, January 31 on Whitehead Road in Clifton.

One of the items stolen included the precious silver, love-heart shaped ring.

The stone contained her baby's ashes, police say.

Officers are now appealing for the public's help to find the ring.

A post on the GMP Salford Facebook page said: "From your CSI team: At 16:45 on Friday 31st January at Whitehead Road, Clifton, a lady was mugged at knifepoint.

"One of the items stolen included this silver, love heart ring which contained her baby's ashes.

"We are appealing for your help to locate this precious item."
