Grieving Leeds husband's heartbreaking tribute to newly-wed wife, 39, after she dies from cancer

The newly-wed husband of a Leeds woman who died after losing her battle to cancer has paid tribute to her with a heartbreaking message.

Gemma Sisson-Moore, 39, died in the arms of her husband Ricky Moore on Wednesday (July 22), according to Mirror Online.

The couple got married after she was admitted into a hospice earlier this year, which is also where she spent her last few weeks following the terminal cancer diagnosis.

The bodybuilder and gym addict's death tragically comes just over a year after she was given the all-clear from pelvic cancer with doctors later discovering secondary tumours in her neck, back, liver and stomach following a private MRI scan.

Gemma posted a heart-wrenching message to her friends and family from beyond the grave after losing her cancer battle.

Gemma Sisson is now campaigning for full body scans for all cancer patients before they are given the all clear (GoFundMe)

Paying tribute to his wife, Ricky said Gemma had left a legacy and had turned a broken man into a good man.

In a post to "Mrs Bear," Ricky said: “I cannot put into words how much I've missed you these past 2 days, whilst we have always loved 1 another and being very close, these last 6 months since you became really ill we have experienced a closeness that only 1 in a million human beings will ever experience.

“I have a hole in my heart now that will never ever be filled because the love we have is forever unbreakable.”

In a bid to ensure other cancer patients do not go through the same experience as Gemma, a petition challenging cancer laws to be changed to ensure cancer patients get full-body scanning before they are given an all-clear verdict has been launched.

It has so far gained more than 120,000 signatures.

Ricky added: “You have massively made your mark in this world Gemma, you have touched so many peoples lives with your positivity, beauty and your amazing sense of humour, and with your petition to change the laws on cancer scans now at well over 100k you really have left a legacy and made a difference.

“And most importantly for me, your love & support helped turn this broken man into a good man full of love and good energy.

“Gem I hope you've enjoyed your first couple of days in our new home and I can't wait to be there sipping cocktails with you soon!

“Mrs Gemma Sisson-Moore. You and I truly are gna live forever!!!!”
