The grieving daughter of a Covid care home victim has branded Boris Johnson “an idiot”.
Eliza Flynn, 38, said the handling of the pandemic has made Britain a “laughing stock”.
Elly Flynn, 75, died at Bridgeside Lodge in Islington, North London.
Eliza is angry care homes were not advised to stop visitors until March 12 and tests were not available to residents or carers.
The mum-of-two, a pre and postnatal fitness specialist, said: “Earlier lockdown would have prevented a week’s worth of visitors.Testing could have meant those who had it early on could have been quarantined.

“The Government have handled this terribly.
"They’ve put people’s lives at risk and are responsible for a lot of deaths.
“Boris is an idiot. Having caught the virus he should understand where they’ve messed up.
"It makes me sad to be British. We’re a laughing stock. We laugh at Donald Trump but we have our own version.”
Alzheimer’s sufferer Elly had lived in the home since 2016 and, despite being unable to speak, enjoyed visits from grandchildren Arthur, two, and Hector, three.
After Elly’s death on April 19, from Covid-19 with underlying Alzheimer’s and frailty, Eliza found the care home had been given out of date PPE, with the expiry date of 2016 updated to 2020.
Bridgeside Lodge said these masks had still been safe to use.
