King Charles III was seen carrying a gift from the Queen today during a procession of Her Majesty's coffin from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall - and shed a tear after she made her final journey. Queen Elizabeth died surrounded by her family at Balmoral and tributes have been flooding in from around the world as a period of national mourning begins - and now she has made her final journey.
The new monarch was joined by his siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward along with his two sons, Princes William and Harry, for the historic occasion. The King wore full day ceremonial uniform with the rank of Field Marshal - and in held a special gift from his beloved mother.

His Majesty carried his Field Marshal Baton presented to him by The Queen when he became Field Marshal in 2012.
He looked tear-eyed as he walked behind his mother's coffin - and a number of people could be seen wiping away tears as the it made its way down The Mall.
During the service, the senior royals stood in formation facing the coffin on its purple-covered catafalque, which was flanked with a tall, yellow flickering candle at each corner of the wide scarlet platform.
The King and Queen Consort stood together a metre or so apart, with the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence behind them, then the Duke of York alone, and in the next row the Earl and Countess of Wessex.
Behind them were the Prince and Princess of Wales, with the Duke of Sussex behind William, and the Duchess of Sussex directly behind Kate.
The Cross of Westminster was placed at the head of the coffin.
King Charles is also wearing the Order of Merit, the decoration on his neck, with the Order of the Garter Sash and Star.


He is wearing the Queen’s Service Order (New Zealand), Coronation Medal, Silver Jubilee Medal, Golden Jubilee Medal, Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Platinum Jubilee Medal
The new monarch also has the Naval Long Service Good Conduct (LSGC) (3 x Additional Service Bars), Canadian Forces Decoration (3 x Additional Service Bars), the New Zealand Commemorative Medal and the New Zealand Armed Forces Award.
King Charles III made a historic address to the nation last Friday, which ended with a very poignant message to his mother.
Towards the end of his speech, the new King turned attention back to his late mother and made a reference to his father Prince Philip.
"And to my darling Mama, as you begin your last great journey to join my dear late Papa, I want simply to say this: thank you," he stated.
"Thank you for your love and devotion to our family and to the family of nations you have served so diligently all these years.
"May 'flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest'."

In the rest of his address, the King made William and Kate the Prince and Princess of Wales, much earlier than was expected.
His Majesty referred to the new roles and titles now given to members of the family, confirming Camilla would serve has his Queen Consort.
On William and Kate, he said: "As my Heir, William now assumes the Scottish titles which have meant so much to me.
"He succeeds me as Duke of Cornwall and takes on the responsibilities for the Duchy of Cornwall which I have undertaken for more than five decades.
"Today, I am proud to create him Prince of Wales, Tywysog Cymru, the country whose title I have been so greatly privileged to bear during so much of my life and duty."
The new King also sent his best wishes to his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle, as they "build their lives overseas".
