Greyhound bus crash kills 2, injures a dozen

A Greyhound bus turned over on a west coast motorway, killing two people and injuring more than a dozen, according to California Highway Patrol.

The bus had departed from Los Angeles on Monday night at 11.30pm and was en route to Oakland on Tuesday morning, when it flipped on its side along a rainy highway in San Jose, as reported by KTVU.com.

It was carrying 19 passengers and one driver.

Five people suffered moderate injuries and 13 others suffered minor injuries, according to emergency officials.

Pictures and video from the scene show the bus crashed on its side, hanging over the highway concrete barrier, with debris spilling onto the road. The bus reportedly blocked traffic for several hours on route 101.

Investigators did not immediately reveal why the bus had crashed.
