Gretzky has high praise for Blackhawks' Toews, Kane

ST. LOUIS _ After winning three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are as good a bet to make the Hall of Fame as any current NHL players.

On Saturday, they got a seal of approval from The Great One, Wayne Gretzky.

"Both of them are obviously superstars. Both of them are Hall of Famers. I don't think there's any real debate over that," Gretzky said. "More importantly they're winners and they're very unselfish."

Gretzky, who skated in the Blues-Blackhawks alumni game at Busch Stadium on Saturday as part of the festivities for Monday's Winter Classic, said Toews and Kane have proven themselves on the ice _ and their Stanley Cups bring a lot of credibility to their respective resumes.

"They've been a real positive for Chicago not only because of the way they play but because they won championships," Gretzky said. "You have to have good leadership and you have to have talent. They bring both of those qualities to the organization."
