Greta Main horse fall leaves man, 49, in serious but stable condition

A MAN has suffered a serious pelvis injury after a fall from a horse at Greta Main.

A Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service spokesman said the chopper was called to a rural area south-west of Cessnock after reports the 49-year-old had been injured in an equestrian incident.

Paramedics treated him on scene before the helicopter's critical care medical team further stabilised him.

The patient was flown to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition, the spokesman said.
