‘Grenade’ discovered at property puts Drumchapel street on lockdown

A Drumchapel street is on lockdown following the discovery of a ‘grenade’ within a property.

Police Scotland officers were searching the property when they discovered the device, and a Royal Navy Bomb Disposal Unit has since been called in.

As reported on Glasgow Live, eyewitnesses say they have been told to stay indoors, with the street cordoned off since 5.30pm and some homes evacuated.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman has since confirmed: “Police are on the scene at Ledmore Drive. While conducting a search of a property, officers discovered some form of grenade.

“EOD are examining the device and the incident is ongoing.”
