Greggs are set to open a THIRD Irvine shop inside the town's Tesco supermarket.
Fans of the bakery chain will be able to buy their favourite pastries from a counter inside the Riverway Retail Park store from next month.
The new Greggs has created eight jobs and is expected to feature the same menu as standalone branches.
A spokesperson for Greggs said the shop was scheduled for a February opening and would follow all relevant coronavirus regulations.
The bakery chain is already well established in Irvine with shops in the Rivergate Centre and New Street, near the railway station.
Last year, Asda became the first supermarket in the UK to open Greggs counters.
Greggs are thought to be keen to expand its store base in supermarkets in a bid to recapture growth after the coronavirus outbreak hit profits.
