Greggs submit plans to open first Scottish drive-thru in Glasgow

Bakery giant Greggs are planning to open their first Scottish drive-thru in Glasgow.

The baking chain has submitted proposals which would see the store operate in Drumchapel on the outskirts of the city seven days a week.

Punters could pick up their favourite baked goods from 5am to midnight next to other fast food giants at the Great Western Retail Park, including Pizza Hut and Burger King.

Plans include outside seating and a 72-space car park at the 1800sqt spot.

The application, submitted on March 6, comes almost three years after the bakery giant first opened a drive-thru store in Manchester in 2017 off the back of a successful trial.

The application is pending awaiting further assessment by Glasgow City Council.
