Greggs shoppers furious after bakery posts 'blasphemous' picture of sausage roll

Greggs has left shoppers furious after posting a picture of a sausage roll with a 'blasphemous' difference.

The bakery chain's Twitter account responded to a tweet on the social media platform, and what followed was an onslaught of dismayed customers reacting in horror.

Twitter account @lovelyjess asked the question: "What feels illegal, but isn't?" Greggs responded by posting an image of a sausage roll, but with a bite taken out of the middle of it, Manchester Evening News reports.

Everybody knows you eat a sausage roll from one end to the other, right? Anybody that doesn't needs to change that immediatley.

Needless to say, the responses on Twitter to the appalling image were in agreement that eating a sausage roll like this is a violation.

A lot of people quickly became infuriated by the tweet, and rightly so. Who eats a sausage roll like that? Seriously?

"Reported," one distressed Twitter user wrote.

Another added: "Such blasphemy!"

"Delete this," demanded somebody else.

A fourth disgruntled social media user wrote: "Blocked."

"Greggs... NO," another furious user said.

Let us know what you think of the image.
