Greggs set to open second branch in Beeston as part of big expansion

A new Greggs is set to open its doors in Beeston later this year.

Documents from Broxtowe Borough Council show that the new site will be at 201 - 209 Queens Road.

Greggs will be replacing the Broxtowe Community Project, which is moving at the end of the month. They'll be running services from a new location by August 2.

The planning documents show plans for a large seating area both indoors and outdoors with planned parking.

At the moment, the application is pending consideration.

A spokesperson has now confirmed that Greggs is looking to open a new store in the area.

They said: “We can confirm we’re looking to open a shop in Beeston later this year and will be sure to share information in due course.”

Currently, there is only one Greggs in Beeston situated in High Road.

The food chain is set to open 100 new shops in 2021 despite recording its first annual loss since 1984.

Greggs has not confirmed specifically when the new store will open its doors or any details around recruitment.
