It's been an issue troubling Greggs fans across the UK - what's happened to their favourite corned beef bake?
For some time now they have not been able to get their hands on the popular savoury.
Their views were summed up by Jeff Ball on twitter who wrote on May 30. "Lockdown Day 440: apparently there's a shortage of Corned Beef bakes at Greggs' everywhere and I am shook."
Some feared they might have been discontinued as the Newcastle based baker has over recent years stopped selling the likes of scones and macaroni pies.
Also on twitter Jordan Marrs, who describes himself as a Mackem living in Wallsend, wrote: "The last few times I’ve been to @GreggsOfficial they haven’t had corned beef pasties ye kna. Such a travesty if they stop doing them like."
Greggs responded: "We are sorry our Corned Beef Bakes aren't currently available for you to enjoy. We're working hard to get them back into our shops as soon as possible."
Savvy fans of the savoury have not gone without despite the shortage. They have been hot footing it to Iceland which sells packs of two Greggs Corned Beef Bakes.
However, the wait to buy them at an actual Greggs will soon be over.
When we contacted the company, they didn't want to comment on what the cause of the problem was.
However a spokesperson assured us: "I have spoken to the team and they have said the supply chain team think we should be back to full availability by the end of next week."
