Greggs reopens four Newcastle branches as click and collect shops

Greggs has reopened four shops around Newcastle where customers can order their savoury and sweet favourites direct from their homes.

The bakery giant has picked out four city locations where its branches will now operate as a Click and Collect service as well as being able available for Just Eat deliveries.

The chosen areas are Byker, Gosforth, Fenham and Wellbar Central at Gallowgate where Greggs lovers can now order online rather than in person at the shop.

Having picked one of the four shops they can then select a time slot, choose their items and pay online. Greggs then will send them an email when their order is ready for collection.

The menu they can pick from is slightly reduced but still contains a wide range of breakfast items, savouries and bakes, sandwiches and doughnuts and cakes as well as hot drinks.

On arrival, customers will folllow the safety measures in place: one adult at a time - unless accompanied by children - will be allowed to make a collection and social distancing floor makers must be followed.

Or customers can choose to make an order for delivery from these four shops using Just Eat.

A Greggs spokesperson said: “We’re thrilled to introduce our Click and Collect service in Newcastle and, along with the other shops we’ve reopened across the country and our partnership with Just Eat, we’re pleased to help bring a little taste of normal back to our local communities."
