Greggs recalls popular bakes sold in Iceland over fears they contain pieces of glass

Greggs has recalled packs of its vegetable bakes in Iceland stores over fears they could contain pieces of glass.

The recall notice warns that the product may contain small pieces of green glass which could be dangerous to eat.

The affected products are the 310g frozen packs of two vegetable bakes with the following before dates in 2021: August 15, August 28, September 11, September 12 or September 26.

Customers who've purchased one of the recalled vegetable bake packs are being advised not to eat them.

Instead, shoppers should return them to their nearest Iceland store for a full refund.

You won't need a receipt to get your money back.

Customers can also call the Greggs customer careline on 044 080 8147 3447 or email getintouch@greggs.co.uk.

Other packs with different best before dates aren't included in the recall.

Bakes that are sold in Greggs stores are also unaffected, as are other Greggs products sold in Iceland.

A Greggs spokesperson said: “The safety of our food is of paramount importance and we take all issues regarding the production of our food extremely seriously.

“This recall does not affect any of our freshly baked savoury products available in our Greggs shops or other Greggs products sold at Iceland

“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

Other recalls to watch out for include Wall's Twister ice lollies which have been pulled from shelves over allergy fears.

Recently, Lidl, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Co-op issued other product recalls.

Lidl shoppers were warned about a brand of beef and pork mince that may contain pieces of plastic that would make the product "unsafe to eat".

Tesco has recalled a pack of biscuits with a specific best-before date because they contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label and pose a possible health risk to people with allergies.
